Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo Media Cards

Sony introduced two new high-powered members to the Memory Stick media family, 2 GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo and 1 GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo. While the former is the largest capacity Memory Stick media available in the Duo format, the latter is easily recognizable by its bold new black coloring. The new Memory Sticks are compact, reliable, easy to use and easily transportable media cards compatible with a wide range of compact digital devices including digital cameras, cellular phones, wearable portable audio players and pocket-sized digital imaging and gaming devices.

A digital camera photo file size depends upon the picture resolution, compression, color (RGB photos are three times as big as black-and-white photos and CMYK photos are four times as big as black-and-white photos), digital camera model and shooting conditions.

With Sony's new high-capacity 1 GB and 2 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo media, users will get the most out of their digital devices without compromising quality or having to worry about how much memory their content is consuming. Compared to full-sized Memory Sticks, Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo media are only one-third the size and one-half the weight but provide the same features.

The 2 GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo (High Speed) media is designed to support read and write speeds of up to 80 Mbps, which varies with supporting hardware. The high speed is beneficial for transferring data-intensive images to and from PCs and other devices.

Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo media offers higher durability with a standard operating temperature range of -25oC to +85oC. It is a perfect solution for those users who need to easily store and swiftly transfer data-intensive digital contents such as high-resolution digital photos and TV-quality video clips. As the trend for higher mega pixel cameras continues to increase, large capacity, high-speed memory cards as Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo will be at the forefront of the flash memory market.
